Best Restaurants of Scottsdale: Fall 2023

Some of the most unique dining experiences can be found across Arizona. As we know, the desert is home to some of the best restaurants in the country. From the high-end dining experience of our many steak houses to a delicious, home-cooked meal, Scottsdale has what you seek. For over 100 years, the West’s most western town has cultivated a population comprised of people from all over the globe, creating a diverse market of some of the best restaurants you can find. This list is our pick for the best-tasting and most exciting restaurants in Scottsdale for Fall 2023.

Pomo Pizzeria

Having been owned and operated by Stefano Fabbri for over the last decade, Pomo Pizzeria has worked its way into becoming a staple of the pizza scene in Arizona. The traditional Italian roots shine through when visiting the restaurant and trying the food, something Fabbri worked very hard to ensure. Born in the small village of Rimini in Italy, Fabbri spent the majority of his life working in the restaurant business, and upon his arrival to the States, he began his work in creating the Neapolitan-inspired restaurant we see today. The restaurant is certified in making Neapolitan pizza with the certification “Vera Pizza Napoletana”, Vera meaning True. This ensures that every step of the way, Pomo is practicing the utmost quality when it comes to the creation of their pizza.

Mastro’s City Hall

Originally opened in 2002, Mastro’s City Hall Steakhouse is an Arizona classic, located on Camelback Road next to Fashion Square, in the very heart of Downtown Scottsdale. The menu consists of the traditional bout typically found in most steakhouses, however, it is clear that City Hall works to ensure that tradition is no limit to the quality of food served. Contemporary flare is injected into all aspects of the menu, including specialized compound butter served with steak, A5 wagyu served on a hot stone, lobster mashed potatoes and truffle infused… anything. Steaks range in size from a petite eight-ounce filet all the way to a heaping 48-ounce double-cut porterhouse.

Rockefeller

One of the newer and more exciting entries on this list is Rockefeller Seafood, which opened in the fall of 2021 and has been serving Scottsdale residents ever since. This restaurant was started by Danny Quinn, the founder of Pubblico Italian Eatery, and strives to create a sort of roaring-twenties aesthetic with the atmosphere inside the establishment. Many gold embellishments and art deco-inspired themes throughout make for a unique dining experience, many people will be hardpressed to find anywhere else in the Valley. Along with that, being a high-end seafood restaurant located in the center of our desert, this kind of restaurant is few and far between.

Toca Madera

Established in the heart of Downtown Scottsdale in the fall of 2019, Toca Madera is one of the best Arizona has to offer. With exciting live entertainment, performed on “Toca Tuesdays” (every Tuesday), a raw bar and a selection of food and drink that is impossible to pass up, it is no wonder why this restaurant quickly found itself among the best in the Valley. The interior ambiance of the establishment is a wonderful quality that is extremely hard to miss when dining in, with those who run Toca priding themselves on their ability to give guests what they call “an immersive dining experience”. Happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily and on Tuesdays extends to 8 p.m.

Guido’s Chicago Meat & Deli

A unique establishment, doubling as a deli grocery store and a dine-in restaurant, Guido’s Chicago Meat & Deli, opened in 1983, is one of Scottsdale’s absolute best. From the home-like atmosphere to the mouth-watering food they serve, everything about this location is amazing. The establishment was started by James and Theresa Guido, along with their son Joe Guido Jr. after migrating from Chicago, Illinois, a fact that is not lost on guests upon entering through the front doors for the first time. All the decorations and pictures occupying the interior work to create this atmosphere, from the tile on the floor to the ceiling above your head, and everything in between. This is an absolute must-visit for anyone spending time in the Valley.
